Wei Tong Chen is currently a Distinguished Professor in the Graduate School of Engineering Science and Technology at the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech), Taiwan. He received his M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Building Construction and the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Florida, USA. Over the past three decades, Professor Chen has been actively involved in teaching and research in the field of construction engineering and management. He has also held various administrative service positions, including Dean of Engineering College, Dean of Future College, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, and Head of CCE Department. Professor Chen currently serves as an academic editor for the Advanced Civil Engineering Journal, on the editorial board of the International Journal of Project and Organisation Management, and as a guest editor for a special collection of the Sustainability Journal. He has also served the editor-in-chief of the Value Management Journal and the Property Management Journal. His research has been primarily focused on the development of novel approaches to project performance measurement, construction management, construction safety, construction cost/time relationships, and value engineering applications. He has also published over 60 research papers in international journals.

Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor, Academician Mikayel G. Melkumyan (born on June 10, 1951) is a distinguished Armenian scientist and engineer specializing in earthquake resistant construction. After graduating from the Civil Engineering Department of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1973 he began researching the behavior of various reinforced concrete structures under seismic actions. Following the devastating 1988 Spitak earthquake, Melkumyan focused on analyzing of structural failures and developing of innovative seismic isolation techniques. His research at the Institute of Industrial Science the University of Tokyo resulted in the “Melkumyan Hysteresis Model”, enhancing the understanding of shear behavior in structures. From 1992 through 1996 he was a teaching Professor at the College of Engineering of the American University of Armenia (AUA), giving lectures on non-linear behavior of reinforced concrete structures and design principles in earthquake resistant construction. He pioneered methods for retrofitting buildings by base isolation while keeping them operational. His patented technologies have been implemented in seismic isolation design for construction of new and retrofitting of existing buildings in Armenia, Russia, Romania, Peru, Kazakhstan, and Turkey. Melkumyan has authored 260 scientific works, including 21 books (6 monographs), 11 normative documents, codes, and standards, and 12 inventions. He is the president of the Armenian Association for Earthquake Engineering, CEO of the “Melkumyan Seismic Technologies” LLC, and has served on various international committees and editorial boards. His efforts have significantly advanced seismic engineering, positioning Armenia among the leaders in this vital field.

This initiative resulted in a collaboration with the local Territorial Authority as part of the Council's Facilities Rebuild Programme and the Sumner Community-Led Village Centre Masterplan. Max is also involved in architectural education, working as a part-time tutor in tertiary education. His role allows him to mentor the next generation of architects, guiding students in developing strong design principles, technical skills, and critical thinking. Through teaching, he fosters a deeper understanding of sustainable architecture and innovative problem-solving, reinforcing his commitment to shaping not only the built environment but also the future of the profession. Dr. Attitou Aboubakr is a German civil engineer, researcher, and consultant specializing in ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), structural engineering, and offshore wind turbine structures. He is the founder of the consulting firm Dr.-Ing. Abo and a lecturer at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. With a Ph.D. from Kassel University, his research focuses on grouted connections, earthquake engineering, and finite element analysis. Dr. Aboubakr has authored numerous publications and actively participates in international conferences on concrete technology, infrastructure, and renewable energy.

Uzair Siddiqui is a Structural Engineer with a Master’s in Structural Engineering from NED University. He has worked on major projects across the UAE, USA, and beyond, specializing in reinforced concrete and steel structures. Currently at Stantec, he excels in structural analysis, retrofitting, and performance-based design. A registered engineer with SOE UAE and PEC, he is also an affiliate of ICE, ASCE, SEI, and ACI. Passionate about education, he shares structural design knowledge through online courses and engineering content.

Sabreen graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 2015 with a degree in civil engineering. She earned her master’s degree in civil engineering from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) in 2018 and began her PhD in sustainable construction project management in 2022. Alongside her PhD journey, she works as a researcher at AUS, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and addressing challenges in technology adoption in construction. She has presented at several local and international conferences on sustainability and innovative technologies in construction. Sabreen has also published her research in top-ranked engineering journals, including those in the top 2% globally. In addition, she has delivered workshops teaching researchers to use advanced tools like SAS and Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) to analyze big data in construction and derive impactful results.

Amr is a Principal Structural Engineer at Stantec, bringing over 16 years of international experience across the Middle East and North Africa. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate and holds a Master’s degree specializing in the analysis of high-rise buildings. His research has been published in the Structures and Buildings Journal, a publication of the Institute of Civil Engineering (ICE) in the UK, where he is also a member. Amr is registered as an unlimited engineer with the Dubai and Abu Dhabi municipalities. In recognition of his expertise, he was awarded the prestigious International A’Design Award for Architectural and Structural Design (2016/2017) for his work on a mixed-use tower in Jeddah. Throughout his career, Amr has successfully delivered large-scale projects across diverse sectors, including malls, hospitals, airports, and high-rise buildings. In addition to his design experience, Amr's extensive site experience on major projects in the UAE and internationally enables him to deliver optimal design solutions using the most efficient construction methods.
